We are a small diverse team of professionals with outstanding skill sets and experience in public health, economic development, mindset change, health advocacy, communication and social mobilization, gender and human rights, environmental sustainability, promoting partnerships for development, PRINCE2 Practitioners as well as legal practitioners. As a team, We love what we do and from the health perspective most of us have directly or indirectly suffered from TB and HIV/AIDS. Some have experienced diverse effects of HIV/AIDS, and this is why we do it with passion . Our priority is the vision of KUBORESHA- AFRICA LIMITED and the KAL Consortium that underpins community ownership in service delivery. We look forward to working with communities as custodians in ending the disease burden in Uganda and across Africa. Starting with Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, DRC , Zimbabwe and Senegal.
Mr Roger Paul K. Rwamushanju MPH, MBA, MGPS: CEO KAL Consortium Africa with a Regional Secretariat in Uganda. An Investigative Journalist and Global Civil Society advocate on TB, HIV/AIDS, Malaria and non communicable diseases. He lost a wife and Son to TB and HIV/AIDS and this was the beginning of his journey in public health. Has worked at the forefront of Global Health in the Civil Society docket and serves on several international Boards and Committees. He successfully mobilized Civil Society towards the first United Nations High Level Meeting on TB in New York in 2018. Paul mobilized African Parliaments in the formation of the Africa TB Caucus and Parliamentary TB Caucuses across the continent. He is an Investigative and Science Journalist and Health Fellow at CNS. He is a WHO Global External Expert. Paul was recently appointed to serve on Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) of the Uganda Virus Research Institute. He is also a member of the Community Advisory Board of the University of California at San Francisco – Tuberculosis Research Advancement Center (UTRAC). Paul founded KUBORESHA-AFRICA and the KAL Consortium Africa with headquarters in Uganda. He is the CEO of the KAL Consortium Africa and the Chief Moderator and founder of Afrogate Pulse Ltd.
As Country Coordinator for KAL Consortium Africa – Tanzania, Dr. Mbelele provides strategic leadership in programme development, partnership building, resource mobilization, and regional collaboration. He is committed to promoting locally led, evidence-informed, gender-transformative, and rights-based development approaches that strengthen institutions, empower communities, and improve the lives of women, girls, youth, and other vulnerable populations. His leadership emphasizes sustainable systems strengthening, capacity development, policy engagement, implementation research, and multi-sectoral partnerships to address complex development challenges, including gender equality, prevention of violence against women and girls, health security, climate resilience, nutrition, and social inclusion. Through his leadership, research expertise, and commitment to collaborative action, Dr. Mbelele continues to contribute to advancing equitable and sustainable development across Tanzania and the African continent.
Caroline Letuya is an accomplished Kenyan human rights defender, grassroots community leader and founder of Omega Winners Initiative (OWI). She Leads in programmes advancing gender equality,
preventing sexual and gender-based violence, ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child marriage, and empowering vulnerable women, girls and children through education, advocacy, leadership, Climate change and community partnerships.
Her Personal Journey includes being raised
in Kajiado County within the Maasai community, Caroline narrowly escaped forced marriage at age twelve after intervention by her local church. This experience shaped her lifelong commitment
to protecting girls and promoting education and human rights.
As Founder and CEO of Omega Winners Initiative in Kenya, Caroline provides strategic leadership, mobilizes resources, coordinates volunteers, builds partnerships with government and civil society, mentors women and girls, leads anti-FGM campaigns, and represents the organization in national forums.
In Advocacy and Community Impact
Her work focuses on preventing FGM and child marriage, responding to gender-based violence, legal empowerment, child protection, community mobilization, youth mentorship, psychosocial support,
and strengthening community systems.
Partnerships
Caroline has collaborated with FIDA Kenya, county and national government agencies, police, children’s officers, courts, community elders, religious leaders and international advocacy networks including the Me Too International Movement. She is now the KAL Country Coordinator for Kenya where KAL covers 19 Counties. Each County having 5 CBOs .
Tariro is the Vice Chair of the Zimbabwe Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) of the Global Fund. Tariro is a prominent Zimbabwean. She is an elected member representing civil society and TB-affected communities.
She is Director, TB People Zimbabwe: She leads this organization to champion the rights of tuberculosis patients and improve community health interventions. She represents civil society organizations at the Southern Africa Regional Coordinating Mechanism and sits on the Advisory Panel of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union).
She is a Founding Trustee Member: She serves on the Board of The Union Zimbabwe Trust (UZT), an organization dedicated to public health delivery.
Kutadza transitioned into public health from a background as a school teacher. Over more than a decade, she has grown into a National HIV and TB Master Trainer, specializing in psychosocial care and support for patients, children, and key vulnerable populations. Her expertise spans adolescent sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, epidemic preparedness, and community development.
Tariro is a Global Goodwill Ambassador (GGA) Humanitarian: Nominated by Ghana in 2019 for her contributions to humanitarian initiatives and mental health awareness.
UHC Micro Grant Winner: Awarded a grant to train journalists to amplify Universal Health Coverage awareness across Zimbabwe’s media networks.
Stop TB Partners Engagement Prize: Awarded at The UNION Lung Conference for her active contributions to regional partner surveys.
Evangelist Petty Musekiwa is a seasoned social worker, counselor, and community development practitioner with over 12 years of professional experience in child protection, gender-based violence prevention and response, disability inclusion, psychosocial support, and community-based development. She is the Founder and Executive Director of St. Daniel’s Rehabilitation & Vocational Training Centre (SDRVTC) in Zimbabwe, where she provides strategic leadership in designing and implementing inclusive programs that improve the lives of women, girls, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations.
She began her career with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, where she spent seven years working with women, children, and persons with disabilities, providing rehabilitation services, psychosocial support, caregiver training, and community-based rehabilitation. She later joined Childline Zimbabwe, where she contributed to the implementation of child protection and gender-focused programs supported by international partners, including Save the Children, Kindernothilfe (KNH) Germany, UNICEF, and USAID through the DREAMS initiative. She also participated in national and regional initiatives, including the Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA) in Zimbabwe, contributing to evidence generation and programming to strengthen child protection systems and inform policy and practice.
Petty holds the following educational qualifications: a Master of Science in Counselling Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Counselling, a Diploma in Theology and a Certificate in Medical Rehabilitation. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences. Also registered as a counsellor with the Allied Health in Zimbabwe and a Board Certified Behavior Therapist.
Throughout her career, she has championed the rights of women, girls, children, and persons with disabilities through inclusive, survivor-centered, and evidence-based programming. She brings extensive experience in strategic leadership, partnership development, program implementation, advocacy, and multi-sectoral collaboration, with a strong commitment to advancing gender equality, disability inclusion, and sustainable community development.
Mr Maxime Lunga has a wealthy of experience in the field of community mobilization and Key and vulnerable populations in the fight against tuberculosis.
He has excellent knowledge of the issues related to the affected community participation in the TB response.
Diana is the Human Resource Manager at KAL Consortium Uganda after years of excellent professional prowess with DFCU Bank where she left to serve communities as her passion. She is passionate about the Kuboresha -Africa’s Mission. She has led the initiative of focusing on widows an area that has been neglected for decades. Diana is a dedicated and compassionate Social worker with a profound commitment to fostering positive change in individuals and communities. With a Master’s degree in social work and over a decade of hands-on experience, Diana has honed her skills in addressing complex social issues and providing support to those in need. Her passion for social justice and advocacy is evident in her tireless efforts to empower marginalized populations and promote inclusivity. Throughout her career, she has demonstarted exceptional proficiency in case management,Counselling and community outreach collaborating with various organizations and government agencies to develop and implement programs that address the unique challenges faced by Vulnerable populations.
